Permissions

Permissions defines the type of accesses granted to a user group or computers to accesses resources, Permissions can be applied to resources such as files, folders, drivers and printers...Etc,Like privileges to “Read” a file, “Delete” a file or create a new file in folder,We are having two types of permissions:

  • Security level permissions.
  • Shared level permissions.
Security level permissions:

These level permissions can be implemented only on “NTFS” partitions,Security level permissions can be set on drivers, folders and files,By default security permissions will be inherited from its parent drive or folder.

Different Security permissions are:
  • Full control.
  • Modify.
  • Read and execute.
  • List folder contents.
  • Read.
  • Write.
Shared level permissions:

These level permissions can be implemented on both “NTFS” and “FAT” partitions,It can be set on drivers, folders, but not files,Share folders are created in network drive only,Different shared level permissions are:

  • Read.
  • Read and execute.
