Operating System

Operating System is a program that enables the hardware components of computer to communicate and operate with the computer software. We have two types of operating systems. They are:

  • Client operating system
  • Server operating system
Client operating system

client operating system also called as single user operating system or desktops operating systems. Client operating systems accessing resources from server operating systems. Client operating systems are windows-xp, windows-vista, windows-7 and windows-8 etc.

Server operating system

It is also called as multi user operating system or network operating system. Server operating system provides services. Server operating systems are windows-200, windows-2003 and windows-2012.

  • wnt 4.0 released in 1996
